A World of Recipes

I think more and more people are becoming Foodies these days and to me Food and Drink has become a bit of a hobby.

When I cook at home I always try and get the best ingredients and everything has to go together, for example, I would never have cauliflower with fish and chips, but then who would! Interstingly enough there is a saying of “What grows together go’s together”! I would never eat Tapas with a glass of French or Italian wine nor a Rioja with pasta! When friends come over for an evening they know they are always in for a treat and they know that I don’t do things by halves. If I am cooking Indian food for example, we will have Indian snacks, starters, at least 2 main dishes, dessert, side dishes and of course some Indian beer and possibly an Old Monk to finish off. The same with a Boeuf Bourguignon. This dish will only be served with wine from that region of France and I think that that is the way it should be. I remember about 100 years ago when I lived in England, we were having Singapore Chilli Crab and I drove around all afternoon looking for Tiger Beer. Couldn’t find any and ended up drinking the closest thing which was Sapporo! Of course nowadays we can prepare these things in advance and order over the internet!

So visit these pages and hopefully I can bring something to you readers about different types of cuisine interesting facts and information about the food we eat, how to cook it and what to eat it with!
