Easy Chicken Gravy
Okay for sure the easiest way of making gravy is using Bisto, but I’m talking real cooking here and this gravy is so easy to make as you can make it a day or two in advance or even earlier than that and freeze it.
Of course the best gravy is when you use the juices from the bird that you roast on a trivet of onion, garlic, celery and carrots together with some good stock. However this recipe is pretty darn good and is based a bit on Jamie Oliver’s but with a twist of Heston!
- 2 onions
- 2 carrots
- 2 sticks of celery
- 2 rashers of higher-welfare smoked streaky bacon
- 2 fresh bay leaves
- 2 sprigs of fresh sage
- 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
- 10 free-range chicken wings
- olive oil
- 60 ml sherry or port , optional
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- 1 tbsp milk powder
