Perfect Fluffy Rice

This is a fail safe method of getting your Basmati or long grain rice perfectly fluffy every time! Of course when you’re making sushi, sticky rice or a risotto, that is something else, but this method works every time.

Simply use a large cup or mug and fill it with rice and pour the rice into a saucepan. Now using the same cup or mug, fill it with water to the same level you had the rice in the mug and pour over the rice. Now repeat! Add a good pinch of salt and bring the rice to a boil.

Once the rice is boiling turn down to lowest heat and pop on a lid and leave for 10 minutes.

Check the rice with a fork and if it’s still a bit wet and al dente then pop the lid back on and leave for 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the rice steam on it’s own.

So in a nutshell it is 1 cup rice 2 cups water, follow this an you will have perfect rice everytime without fail!
