Turkey and the Middle East

I live in Berlin, a city with a very large Turkish population and of course there are many Lebanese too, so it is quite easy to find some really good Middle Eastern food such as lahmacun and dönar kebabs from Turkey or shawarma and other kebabby type dishes from Arab countries. The great thing about this too is that you can find really good cheap food and easily get the ingredients if you want to make the dishes yourself. In fact I often go to the Turkish grocers to get my minced lamb and of course exotic vegetables which the German supermarkets don’t always stock. They are also the cheapest place to get my cucumbers for pickling!
